Despite the rainy Saturday on April 13, 2019, more than 15,000 people passed through the square in front of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Varna during the charity event “Recycling Festival – I Believe and Help”, dedicated to collecting plastic bottle caps. Thousands of people from across Bulgaria took part in the event, donating a total of BGN 2,871.25 and contributing another 22 tons of plastic bottle caps, which were sent for recycling in support of environmental protection.
This brought the total amount of caps collected since the beginning of the campaign to over 91 tons.
In support of the eco-hero “Capman”, we created and showcased for the very first time “The Princess of the Caps”, inviting anyone to become an eco-hero for a moment and enjoy the experience.
The “Street School for Recycling” was once again part of the event. Educational displays illustrated the processes of separating and recycling paper, plastic, and glass waste, while students and ecology majors educated both children and adults about the vital importance and environmental benefits of proper waste disposal and recycling.
