30.04.2022 – Charity Event for Collecting Plastic Bottle Caps on the Square in Front of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Varna

43 tons of plastic bottle caps in a single day! A true “Record of Records” was achieved during the large-scale charity event “Recycling Festival – I Believe and Help”, held on April 30, 2022, on the square in front of the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Varna. A staggering 43,000 kilograms of plastic bottle caps were collected in just one day and packed into hundreds of big bags donated by Plastchim-T AD (plastchim-t.com/bg). The funds raised from the recycling of these caps will go toward the purchase of medical equipment, supplies, and devices for babies and children. Alongside this incredible milestone, we also launched—for the first time ever—a coin collection with denominations of BGN 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.50, 1.00, and 2.00. This effort alone brought in an outstanding total of BGN 17,917.33. In addition, BGN 10,813 was raised through donations at our charity market, thanks to the sale of purpose-driven items, including: “Water with a cause” – 500 ml bottles by AQUA BELLA (aquabella.bg), spelt-based goods by PERUN Food Ltd. (perun.bg) -“Pretzels with a Cause,” “Noodles with a Cause,” and “Couscous with a Cause”, “T-shirts with a cause” and “Mugs with a cause” from our partners at BUHALMUGS.COM, and many other thoughtful and impactful products. We were once again supported by our wonderful food partners NUTRIO BAR (nutrio.bar) and SO FRESH (sofresh.bg), who donated hundreds of sandwiches to fuel the efforts of the many volunteers working tirelessly throughout the event. The total amount raised from all monetary donations during the event was the exceptional sum of BGN 58,830.33.
