On May 22, 2025 (Thursday), in front of the building of the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology – Stara Zagora (Blood Center), located in the courtyard of University Hospital “Prof. Dr. Stoyan Kirkovich” at 2 General Stoletov Street, Stara Zagora, Vladislav Nikolov – Chairman of the “I Believe and Help” Association, officially donated to Dr. Petya Mateeva – Director of the RCTH – Stara Zagora, the second brand-new specialized mobile blood donation unit in Bulgaria under the “I Believe and Help” name.
This second mobile blood donation unit in Bulgaria is valued at nearly BGN 200,000 and was acquired entirely through the collection and recycling of plastic bottle caps in the city of Varna, tens of thousands of coins, and numerous financial donations from various companies, corporations, private entities, and from daily purchases of over 70 types of “products with a cause” bearing the logo of “I Believe and Help”, such as AQUA BELLA branded “Water with a cause”; “Spelt Pretzels”, “Couscous”, and “Noodles with a cause” by the company PERUN; “Children’s Pretzels” and “Sliced Bread with a cause” from Zlatna Dobrudzha by SAVIMEX; “Pizzas with a cause” from FRATELLI Restaurants & Pizzerias; BIG BOZZ branded “Boza with a cause”; “Granola”, “Rustic Sourdough Bread”,”Chickpea Bread”, and “Orange Bears with a cause” from ZLATNOTO ZRANCE Bakery & Stores; “Salads with a cause” from LE CHEF Restaurants; “Tickets with a cause” from PFC LUDOGORETS RAZGRAD; “Overnight stays with a cause” from KINGS VALLEY MEDICAL & SPA HOTEL; monthly donations from the websites MyMunche, Ot Mama za Mami, and many more.
The latest “I Believe and Help” mobile blood donation unit was custom-built following dozens of meetings, site inspections, technical drawings, and consultations with numerous blood donation specialists, in collaboration with representatives of Silver Star and the company Emergency Mobile Systems Ltd.
Inside the mobile blood donation unit, there are two large, comfortable electric donation chairs equipped with adjustable height and body positioning settings, allowing donors to sit or recline as needed. The purpose of this specialized mobile blood donation unit is to give the team at the Regional Center for Transfusion Hematology – Stara Zagora the flexibility and opportunity to visit numerous towns, villages, institutions, organizations, schools, factories, and private companies. The goal is to promote and encourage voluntary blood donation in Bulgaria, in response to the severe blood shortages faced by hospitals nationwide.
