Shocking Items Found Among Bottle Caps Donated for Charity and Recycling
What you see are NOT bottle caps – and they weren’t found on the street. These items were discovered among donations made for our bottle cap charity drive!
We are not a landfill, a recycling company, or a waste depot. We are ordinary people and volunteers from the “I Believe and Help” Charitable Campaign. For years, we have shared many challenges and situations, including the fact that our volunteers constantly find hazardous plastic, metal, glass, and paper objects mixed in with the caps. But never before have the findings been this disturbing and dangerous.
We at “I Believe and Help” kindly ask everyone who supports us and believes in the success of our campaign over the past 10 years to please share this information with as many people as possible. We need your help!
These are NOT bottle caps and should NOT be donated:
– Syringes, needles, medicine vials, and similar items;
– Batteries, remote controls, walkie-talkies
– Glass jars, candle cups, and other glass items
– Pump dispensers and liquid cleaner nozzles
– Dentures, dental molds, shaving brushes, combs, hair clips, clothespins, razors
– Metal caps from beer, soda, or jars
– Thermometers, blood pressure monitors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, electric toothbrushes
– Light bulbs and their components
– Tools (drills, screwdrivers, files, bits, grinders, and discs), electrical outlets, plugs, adapters
– Magnets, utility knives, scissors, blades
– Toilet accessories (seats, brushes, bowls)
– Coffee capsules
– Metal and aluminum cans
– Frying pans, pots, utensils, bottle openers, plates, cups, pitchers
– Stamps and stamp parts
– Computers, peripherals, mice, keyboards, calculators, monitors, phones, chargers
– Toys, building sets, coloring kits, modeling clay, kinetic sand, glass marbles, and more;
We are a charitable organization dedicated to collecting plastic bottle caps.
Some of the types of plastic caps we collect include caps from::
– Bottled water
– Soft drinks
– Beer and beer-based beverages
– Toothpaste tubes
– Hand cream containers
– Cooking oil and vinegar
– Hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol
– Natural juices
– Fabric softeners and liquid laundry detergents.
Every single one of the thousands of bags, sacks, or boxes filled with caps is emptied and manually sorted by dozens of volunteers, who spend hours carefully separating plastic caps from all other objects. This is why we kindly ask everyone: let’s be considerate and support our volunteers and not make their work harder.
We at the “I Believe and Help” Charitable Campaign collect plastic bottle caps, coins (of all denominations), and monetary donations in support of our large-scale goals. All collected plastic caps are sent for recycling, and from 2015 to mid-2024, together with your support, we have collected over 322,000 kilograms.
Instead of ending up in nature, these caps have helped us donate 22 medical devices, equipment, a pediatric/neonatal ambulance, and a mobile blood donation unit under the “I Believe and Help” initiative. And it would be truly wonderful if we have the strength and support to continue doing good – helping thousands in need.
We’re sharing photos of just a small portion of the “unusual” and unfortunately inappropriate items our volunteers find while sorting through tens of thousands of plastic caps.
We move forward united!
With respect,
Vladislav Nikolov
