Record 26,000 kg of Plastic Caps Collected in the Rain on April 20 in Front of Varna Cathedral

On April 20, 2024, the jubilee 10th edition of the large-scale charitable event for collecting plastic caps, coins, and monetary donations took place under the title “Recycling Festival – I Believe and Help”. Despite the pouring rain and cold wind, thousands of people from all over Bulgaria came to donate their collected plastic caps. The result – a record-breaking 26,000 kilograms collected in bad weather, equivalent to BGN 19,500, which will be transferred to the official bank account of the campaign:

The cold rain and strong wind did not stop hundreds of people from also visiting the “I Believe and Help” charity bazaar, where everyone could make a donation and receive “products with a cause”, generously provided by our devoted partners, including:
• “Water with a cause” in 0.5L, 1.5L, 5L, and 10L bottles, produced by AQUA BELLA;
• “Pretzels with a cause,” “Spelt noodles with a cause,” and “Spelt couscous with a cause,” produced under the brand PERUN;
• “Children’s pretzels with a cause” and “Bread with a cause”, produced under the brand Zlatna Dobrudzha by the company SAVIMEX
• “T-shirts with a cause” and “Mugs with a cause” featuring the “I Believe and Help” children’s ambulance and mobile blood donation unit, made by BUHALMUGS.COM
• “Air fresheners with a cause” in the shape of a children’s ambulance, made by AREON
• “Stickers with a cause” (for car, van, or truck);
• “Keychains with a cause” and “Magnets with a cause”, featuring the children’s ambulance and blood donation unit, from STEMAPRINT.NET;
• Wine from ANGEL’S ESTATE
• Cookies, honey cakes, and panettones from “ZLATNOTO ZRANCE” Bakery & Stores, and many others.

Thanks to all the generously donated “products with a cause” from our partners and the support of hundreds of donors at the bazaar, a total of BGN 9,209.50 was raised and deposited into the campaign’s official bank account in support of our causes. For the first time, we also received support from our newest “partners with a cause” from the Fratelli.bg Pizzerias & Restaurants, who donated and delivered 200 freshly baked “pizzas with a cause” for our volunteers on the cathedral square. Our friends from Sofresh.bg contributed over 200 refreshing lemonades, and the team from SkyFoodBG.com joined the cause by donating and delivering over 300 delicious sandwiches. Once again, the professionals from the pastry shop Skladat OOD / Wine & Liquor Store prepared hundreds of handcrafted sweets for the event.

We also collected coins of all denominations: 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.50, 1 and 2 BGN. All coins were escorted by the police to the Monotes.bg cash collection center, where they will be counted and sorted in support of our campaign, and the total amount will be deposited into our official and only bank account.

We extend our sincere thanks to professional photographer Ivaylo Kostadinov, who once again captured hundreds of wonderful moments from the event, which will be available for everyone to see. We also thank professional videographer Stefan Todorov from CHT Films, who created an emotionally powerful video of the entire event, the volunteers, and all participants.

We, the organizers of the “I Believe and Help” Charitable Campaign, express our deep gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers on the square and at the cap-sorting facility, the dozens of police officers, all our “partners with a cause”, and last but not least – the thousands of people who, despite the bad weather, heavy rain, and cold wind, contributed their caps, coins, or monetary donations.
